JEE Mains Maths, 2021 to 2026: 3,556 questions, and Conic Sections up to one in eight
Every JEE Mains Maths shift from 2021 to 2026, chapter by chapter and year by year. The papers changed length in 2025, so each rate is a chapter's share of that year's questions, scaled to one 25-question paper.

How to read this page
The comparison is 2021–24 against 2025–26. The recent window is only two years, and one heavy year moves a chapter a long way, so read a change as a direction, not a forecast. Nothing here predicts the next paper. The 9 questions dated before 2021 are left out.
What moved
Conic Sections has pulled further ahead
RisingConic Sections: 2.24 a paper in 2021–24 → 2.97 in 2025–26
It was already the largest chapter; on the shorter papers it has grown again, to roughly one question in every eight. It has been the largest chapter in almost every year of the grid.
Drill Conic Sections from 2025–26Relations and Functions has become a cornerstone
RisingRelations and Functions: 1.28 a paper in 2021–24 → 1.73 in 2025–26
A middling chapter in the early papers, it now sits beside Three Dimensional Geometry and Sequences and Series. Much of it is numeric-answer counting, so it rewards practice more than reading.
Drill Relations and Functions from 2025–26Area under curves is set more often
RisingApplication of Integrals: 0.75 a paper in 2021–24 → 1.03 in 2025–26
It has moved from the long tail into the core. The questions have not changed shape: sketch the region, then integrate.
Drill Application of Integrals from 2025–26Quadratic Equations has edged up
RisingQuadratic Equations: 0.78 a paper in 2021–24 → 1.00 in 2025–26
A small rise, into the core. It is also the algebra behind Complex Numbers and several calculus questions, so the time is well spent either way.
Drill Quadratic Equations from 2025–26Trigonometric Identities rose, on one heavy year
RisingTrigonometric Identities: 0.28 a paper in 2021–24 → 0.51 in 2025–26
Most of the rise is a single year that set far more than usual. Treat it as a small chapter that sometimes spikes, not as a growing one.
Drill Trigonometric Identities from 2025–26Application of Derivatives has roughly halved
FallingApplication of Derivatives: 1.12 a paper in 2021–24 → 0.59 in 2025–26
It was a core chapter in the early papers and is now in the long tail. Still learn maxima, minima and monotonicity: they return inside other chapters.
Drill Application of Derivatives from 2025–26Differentiation is lighter
FallingDifferentiation: 0.61 a paper in 2021–24 → 0.35 in 2025–26
Fewer questions ask for a derivative on its own. The rules are still needed everywhere in calculus, so learn them through the chapters that use them.
Drill Differentiation from 2025–26Determinants has slipped
FallingDeterminants: 1.00 a paper in 2021–24 → 0.84 in 2025–26
A small fall, from the core into the long tail. Its questions remain routine once the system-of-equations checks are known.
Drill Determinants from 2025–26What left the paper
These chapters set no question in 2025–26. Their notes stay up for older papers.

Every chapter, year by year
Questions per 25-question paper, one column per year, heaviest on the recent papers first. A zero is a measured zero: the chapter set no question that year.
