Trigonometry - II — MHT-CET Maths
Trigonometry - II is the Std XI identity chapter: 38 past-year questions in the MHT-CET bank, 18 of them HARD. It comes in three parts, in the book's order — compound angles, multiple and half angles, and the sum-to-product formulas. The first part is quick; the other two hold 17 of the 19 HARD questions, most of them evaluations at a standard angle. The Std XII chapter, Trigonometric Functions, uses all of it. Every PYQ is tagged.
Every subtopic, worked example, formula and trap in one printable document — answers shown, ready to share.
Subtopic notes
Compound Angles and Conditional Identities
13 PYQsThe sine, cosine and tangent of A + B and A − B, the maximum of a sin x + b cos x, and what a fixed sum such as A + B = 45° or A + B + C = π does to the tangent formula.
Double, Triple and Half Angles
13 PYQsThe formulas for 2A, 3A and A/2, the sign of a half angle read from its own quadrant, and the standard values at π/8, 18° and 36° that most of the HARD questions reduce to.
Sum-to-Product and Product Formulas
12 PYQsTurning a sum of two sines or cosines into a product, and a product into a sum — the moves behind ratio conditions, expressions that collapse to 1, and identities under α + β + γ = π.
