Carbon and Its Compounds: SSC CGL Chemistry

Carbon and Its Compounds has 28 questions in the SSC CGL Tier I bank: 18 from the 2023 shifts and ten from the 2024 shifts, and none from the 2025 shifts. Thirteen are on hydrocarbons and 15 on functional groups and named reagents, and many ask the name for a formula. Each page shows how the names are built, so a new formula can be named too.

The handout has every subtopic, worked example, formula and trap with answers shown. The formula sheet is the chapter’s formulas and traps alone, on one page.
