Lines, Angles and Polygons: SSC CGL Quantitative Aptitude
Lines, Angles and Polygons has 18 questions in the SSC CGL Tier I bank, and every one of them comes from the 2025 shifts. Sixteen are EASY and two MODERATE. Nearly all of them need one formula and one division, so they are marks to collect in a few seconds each. The habit that makes them fast is working through the exterior angle, which is always 360° shared by the sides, and only then turning it into the interior angle.
The handout has every subtopic, worked example, formula and trap with answers shown. The formula sheet is the chapter’s formulas and traps alone, on one page.
Subtopic notes
Angles, Parallels and Polygon Sums
8 PYQsAngles on a straight line add to 180°, angles round a point to 360°, a polygon with n sides has interior angles adding to (n − 2) × 180°, its exterior angles always add to 360°, and it has n(n − 3)/2 diagonals.
Regular Polygons
10 PYQsIn a regular polygon every side and every angle is equal, so each exterior angle is 360° divided by the number of sides, each interior angle is 180° minus that, and one side subtends the same 360°/n at the centre.
