Dice and Cubes: SSC CGL Reasoning
Dice and Cubes has 63 questions in the SSC CGL Tier I bank: 20 from the 2023 shifts and 43 from the 2024 shifts, with 27 EASY and 36 MODERATE. Almost every one shows two or three views of the same dice and asks which face is opposite a given face; two give a flat net instead. Two rules solve them: a face is opposite the one face it never appears beside, and when a face sits in the same place in two views, the faces in matching places are opposite.
The handout has every subtopic, worked example, formula and trap with answers shown.
Subtopic notes
Opposite Faces of a Dice
41 PYQsFind the face opposite a given face from two or three views of the same dice, using the fact that a face touches four others and is opposite the one it never meets, or from a flat net of the cube.
Turning About a Common Face
22 PYQsWhen two views of a dice show the same face in the same place, the dice has turned about that face, so the faces sitting in matching places in the two views are opposite each other.
