Indefinite Integration — JEE Mains Mathematics
Indefinite Integration has 46 past-year questions from 2021 to 2026, and 14 of them ask for a numerical answer. Most go one step past the antiderivative: a given value fixes the constant, or the answer is matched to a printed form to read off a coefficient. The first three pages reduce an integrand to a standard form by substitution, splitting or completing a square; the last page covers integration by parts and integrands that are already a derivative.
Every subtopic, worked example, formula and trap in one printable document — answers shown, ready to share.
Subtopic notes
Algebraic Substitution
14 PYQsChoosing a substitution that clears a root, a pair of linear factors or a high power of x, so the integral becomes a power of t.
Rational Functions and Standard Forms
11 PYQsSplitting a fraction into partial fractions, completing a square to reach a standard integral, and writing a numerator through the denominator and its derivative.
Trigonometric Integrals
9 PYQsIntegrals of powers and combinations of sin x and cos x, turned into algebra by putting t equal to tan x, cot x, sin x, cos x or sin x ± cos x.
Integration by Parts and Reverse Differentiation
12 PYQsIntegration by parts, the eˣ(f + f′) pattern, and integrands that are already the derivative of a product or a quotient.
